By now you have probably heard that Cabarrus County has sewer capacity issues. The Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) operated Rocky River Regional Waste Water Treatment Plant has neared its capacity. While the County and the affected towns work to mitigate the effects of these capacity issues through managed allocation and two phases of expansion at the RRRWWTP, the immediate impact is limited sewer capacity available for development in the affected towns. Each municipality has approached its allocation differently, making navigation of the applicable processes challenging. At Daylight Engineering, we are following the allocation processes in each of the affected municipalities closely and can provide guidance to developers looking for sewer allocation in this challenging time. Cabarrus County is open for business, but each project will need to uniquely navigate the allocation process. If you are looking for more information, contact [email protected]. You can also check out the WSACC website for up to date information on their expansion efforts at Home — WSACC.
